Deforestation:
Deforestation. In places like the Philippines, deforestation has become one of the most significant environmental challenges we face today. People are cutting down trees in our forests, and this practice has created many difficult issues for all of us.
One of the main reasons excessive tree cutting is so harmful is because trees are essential for managing our environment. Their roots naturally absorb large amounts of water, which prevents severe floods. While trees are a vital natural resource that provides us with many benefits, many individuals and groups cut them down irresponsibly and without thinking about the long-term.
If we can all work together to reduce or even stop this irresponsible tree cutting, we can prevent many of the related problems that arise from deforestation. A key part of the solution is actively planting more trees. The strong root system of newly planted trees will once again help to absorb water, which can significantly curb flooding in our community.
